Narrating is an everyday activity and central to our cultural life.
You want to report an important event, to describe in an interesting way a simple
everyday observation, or to invent a new story. Winning prizes is not the aim.
Curious?
Reality is shaped by the recounting of events. Actions and events are communicated through
telling and retelling and so become established and well-known.
But in the telling of stories reality also may be left behind and the realms of
fantasy explored.
The telling of stories is universal and builds bridges between people and cultures.
Stories are created from personal experiences, from things seen, heard, or read, and from
other stories.
We work on writing games and exercises, write short texts as a group, and the participants
write texts alone at home. These texts are discussed in the group, they form the basis
for discussion and further developments.
Writing and recounting leads to trust in the language and an opening into the world.
You form new thoughts and tread new paths. Writing requires openness and curiosity.
This way to a little
labyrinth story.
